After speaking at length to one of the professionals involved in the scenario about which I wrote, I’ve asked my editor at Support for Special Needs to remove today’s post. If I believe in what I wrote about the dangers of appropriating disability (and I do), I should be able to do so without throwing anyone under the bus, intentionally or otherwise. I apologize for that.
You know, sometimes we need to write things and share them before we really figure out what we believe. Everyone deserves take-backs. You’re doing great things here.
