Glimpse of Commonalities
The first-ever Special Needs Mini-Con co-hosted by Support for Special Needs was a raging success. Just a couple of highlights…people didn’t want to leave and stood in the hall for a very long time talking and the surveys we received were overwhelmingly positive; high above a normal approval rating.
If you attended, we’d like you to share your experience on August 15 and come here and enter the URL and information on this page. We’ll list them all up so we can connect even more.
While we were at BlogHer we handed out a short, anonymous survey. It’s what we’ve always thought, and is the premise of this site, that there is more in common than separates us and it was proven while nearly 80 people shared space to talk about blogging and special needs. We talk about it in our About Us statement on our About Page.

I am oh so proud of you, Julia! That you put this together on a shoestring budget and with barely any time to speak of is amazing but then I expect no less than amazing from you! What a wonderful gift you are to your community. I know you are too humble to toot your own horn but people need to know that this wonderful event was all your doing!!!!!!!
Dawn, as always, thank you for your support. Thank you for helping me start SfSN…it’s truly been transformational.
This is amazing! I love it. We really do have #moreincommon. You rock. We all do.
We really do have #moreincommon and meeting people like you just made it all that more real for me. Thank you for being so welcoming to me. Honestly.
As soon as I walked in the room, I knew it was going to be an amazing afternoon. It was such a pleasure to meet all of the amazing, hard working, brilliant people at the conference.
Thank you Jen/Jennifer/Jennie…for being wonderful you. I heart you.
I am beyond thankful for this mini conference. It was what solidified me attending BlogHer and I am so glad I did! You are all amazing and it is comforting to see we really do have #moreincommon than I originally anticipated.
Thank you all for being rockstars.
Did I hug you? I know I rambled about how I LOVE your handle, but we really should have hugged. Thank you for your comment, it REALLY made my night. (or morning, as the case may be).
Julia, you really did an amazing thing with this mini-conference. Your energy and enthusiasm are simply a force to be reckoned with. I am so glad for this community and look forward to continued growth and more in person time in the future.
