I have 10 year old twins who were born prematurely at 26 weeks. Both have processing difficulties with my son being profoundly effected. For years I felt as if I needed to be an interpreter for him because I knew how things needed to be said for him to understand. The schools provided articulation and developmental speech therapy but don’t even recognize APD. I found a private SLP who has made a world of difference! We still have some issues but my son is keeping up with his peers now. Now I work as a learning specialist and program developer.
