I am the mother to six children. My oldest daughter was born with a congenital heart defect, congenital scoliosis, bladder reflux, and congenital hearing loss. She is now eleven and has had two open heart surgeries, bladder reflux surgery, two reconstructive ear surgeries, and multiple procedures. She is currently in early stage left sided heart failure and is in the process of being listed for a heart transplant. I believe all children are miraculous, but I also think those with special needs come with an extra spark that the rest of us can certainly learn volumes from!
