Organizing … Specialized!

Public Group active 2 weeks ago ago

Organizing…Specialized is group where we help each other with the home organizing challenges we face raising children with special needs. While our moderator is a Professional Organizer, she is not able to personally address each question raised, especially as the group grows. We can all share our tips, offer suggestions and help one another. Leslie will address as many questions as she can, but please remember she is our volunteer moderator.

Expired Epi-pens (3 posts)

We were preparing for a trip and only then discovered all my daughter’s Epi-pens were expired. Luckily, it was easily remedied through the pharmacy and doctor’s office. We made a notation of the new expiration date on the calendar so next time we will remember to replace them! Anyone else have medication strategies to share?

Hmm I’m wondering how expired it has to be before you cant’ use it anymore. I know some meds can be taking for a while after the expiration date.

That’s what my dr. told me about diastat.

My daughter doesn’t have special needs but she has a peanut allergy. Fortunately, she’s never had to use the epi-pen but she may need it and I don’t know if its’ expired.

Hi, Michelle! I am surprised how hard expiration dates are to read! I spent an hour in a client’s home going through bins of toiletries and medications looking for expiration dates to help her decide what to get rid of. You would think if it was really that important, they would make them easier to read!…We replace the epi-pens annually, so I guess they last about a year.
