Art in Autism Arizona
Public Group active 1 year, 2 months ago agoApril is Autism Awareness Month. To honor those millions of families affected by autism, ACCEL and Autism Speaks Arizona are collaborating to bring the Arizona community the first art show highlighting the talents of those on the autism spectrum. The event is dedicated to promoting autism awareness through the eyes and art of individuals with autism, as well as to uplift, encourage, celebrate and inspire artist’s contribution to the arts and to nurture those abilities to their fullest extent.
The 4-day event will take place April 13-16, at ACCEL’s Gifted Hands Boutique, a unique venue highlighting the artwork of children and adults with special needs. Gifted Hands Boutique is a distinctive retail store featuring seasonal décor, consigned merchandise, as well as unique handcrafted items made by clients of Michael’s Garden, ACCEL’s adult division, and vocational students at ACCEL.
A VIP reception will be held on Thursday, April 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy light fare and beverages. Judging will take place and prizes will be awarded. Tickets for the reception are $50 each or two for $80. Please join us for this inspiring event.
