flying by the seat of my pants. As others have said, at least we can go to events sometimes now. My dd is 15 now and we can sometimes discuss together how we are going to “adjust” to a situation and she can also sometimes figure out what is going wrong before she is totally unable to cope or function. I’ve been a parent for 26 years and even with my NT adult kids I am sometimes Doing Things I Never Thought I Would do and on a very regular basis with dd.

If we didn’t do this we’d never, ever go out as a family to events. At least we can go. It used to be impossible.

I’ve been there. When my youngest brother graduated from high-school last fall, Max and I walked the halls and sat on the steps. We got some looks, but that time it didn’t really bother me.
