Our school is adamantly against a more restrictive environment because my 16yo daughter (diagnosed with bipolar, RAD, C-PTSD…) is able to (mostly) hide her issues and anxiety. She would “rather die” than let others see that she’s not perfect. The school is convinced that her issues are only at home. Like that’s possible.

She has an IEP already, but can’t get the emotional support she needs, probably in a special therapeutic school. Not only are we dealing with her frequent hospitalizations (currently on her 7th this year), but we’re trying to find funding for RTC and fighting the school district.
