Around the Community!

We’re all in the swing of fall, right? I know we are trying to get ready for a fundraising Walk for PKD and we’re also getting ready for Halloween. Headless Horseman and a Girl Pirate. I guess I should get on those costumes, right?

We’ve been doing a lot of talking behind the scenes. I’m happy to report we have some new people helping us out! Jen Lee Reeves of Born Just Right will be starting in November doing these Friday updates, so you’ll be sure to see her on the boards more, which I am very happy about. I love that people in the community are getting involved. We have some great posts in the queue that we’re excited about! Remember Kate’s monthly series is going on now and so be sure to look for those posts and stories.

A few of us were discussing how hard some new realizations have been affecting us and so we’ve started a new group and thread. Join us there. Realization can be about a diagnosis, a treatment, a deficit. Join in the conversation.

Remember our How To section, okay? It’s pretty easy when you get the hang of it! We keep a simple navigation of it on the left hand column. Easy to click around if you’re wondering what to do on a specific thing.

There were a lot of discussions over at Thinking Person’s Guide to Autism and I wrote a post about it — The Silo Affect. Check it out and comment. I understand some people were having trouble because moderation was on and we’re working to get that taken off. Often we moderate your first comment on the site and the rest will go through. I didn’t feel comfortable commenting on the series posts because I felt my comments might have been misunderstood and I didn’t have the energy at the time to do it and I also didn’t want to be reactionary without thinking about so I waited until I was ready.

We hope you’ll get in the groups and talk to each other…people need support and I hope if you need support, you’ll join in the conversation!

Happy Fall!
