I think a sense of humor is all we have left sometimes. Like your child I went through end stage renal disease, dialysis and two transplants. My sense of humor, a good attitude and the belief that my trials weren't caused by me being "bad" at one point or another during my life.

Trials come and go, we get stronger as we conquer one and move to the next. People with what appear to be insurmountable hurtles (view by others) are in fact leaders that help others have the strength to battle through their own problems.

Our little ones look to us for that strength as they grow because they'll face their own tough times and will draw from what they were taught.

I hope things are well with your family.

I completely agree and get this post! There are times that my son just has all out fits in stores and it looks awful from the outside. It also looks worse because I'm laughing as I'm wrestling with him, trying to get him back into the cart. It's the only way I think my brain will let me get through it. It's either that, or cry from embarassment. People who haven't lived the life just don't get it. It's my way of blowing off steam and coping. It may not be right, but that's what I need.
