What those with FASD offer society

“We have gown in our understanding of the benefits of cultural diversity. Now we need to grow our understanding of neural diversity.”
Cognitive Disability Strategy behaviour consultant Karmen Krahn Schulties definitely believes Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is something society must fight to prevent. However, at the same time she believes people with FASD have unique abilities and offer much to a community.
“People with FASD are very socially motivated and are just a delight to be around,” Schulties said during an information luncheon at Timothy Eaton Gardens on Thursday, which was FASD Awareness Day.
