What happens to a child of an illegal immigrant when a parent is asked for papers and doesn’t have them? It’s a question immigration activists want to know.

People often say our immigration law will tear families apart, but there is a small population of people in the country illegally who can earn their green cards.

Special needs families, families with exceptional hardships in the states, are eligible to stay on as a permanent residence. But proving that hardship is tricky.
